I have had several dozen poems and short stories published in literary magazines, including:
I was invited to read poetry and short stories at several publication parties for "The Crunge" literary magazine, in Lancaster, California. 1994 - 1996. I was invited to read poetry at the Cal Poly Pomona "Spring Harvest 1995," literary magazine publication party. I participated in poetry performances at "Lunch Poems," a mid-day poetry review hosted by then-Poet-Laureate Robert Hass. 1998. Juried into the late Thom Gunn's poetry workshop series at the University of California, Berkeley, which admitted only 12 students, 1998 - 1999. Juried into Robert Peters' poetry guest workshop series at Antelope Valley College, 1995.

Other, Philosophy and Humanities

Mountain of the Giants. 2010.
Philosophy, Taoism, Humanities-Related Coordinated and conducted a series of Tao Discussion Groups--an independent open forum for the discussion of Eastern philosophy, religion, and Taoism. Taught the following courses through the University of New Mexico, Continuing Education department from 2007 - present: "Tao and Zen," "Introduction to Chinese Mythology," "Zen Storytelling," and "Introduction to Japanese Mythology." I also teach assorted art classes through my private art studio, including traditional Chinese brush painting and a hand's on exploratory course for non-artists to get their hands dirty!

I performed in a number of juried-entry competitive instrumental ensembles and groups, including:

Competed as a soloist and in small ensembles (duet, trio, quartet, quintet) in the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association yearly Solo & Ensemble Festivals, from 1989 - 1992. I received frequent "excellent" and "outstanding" performance ranks. Part of the Palmdale High School Pep Band, a small, carefully-chosen group of musicians who toured with the football team, basketball team, and performed at pep rallies. School spirit required. Served on the Palmdale High School Student Government as Band Senator, 1989 - 1992. Performed as part of Felix Mayerhofer's holiday brass quintet, which traveled the Antelope Valley and played holiday music for senior citizen homes, banks, schools, and hospital wards. 1991.
Drama
